The Perfect Food is Super Green
Many people are not yet aware that there is a type of nutritional supplement called a super green food that can help prevent disease and reverse the signs of aging. It is comprised of whole foods direct from nature that can actually help conquer cancer, nerve damage, diabetes, heart disease, irritable bowel syndrome, clinical depression, as well as provide all the nourishment your body needs to stay healthy and strong – for life. If you want to boost your immune system, energy levels and brain power taking a super green whole food supplement every day can help.
Not your typical pond scum
Most super green foods contain blue green algaes called micro-algae, since they are microscopic forms of freshwater algae. Both chlorella and Spirulina are microscopic plants that grow in fresh water and contain a plethora of nutrition. They’ve been around for quite some time now: nearly a few billion years. even though these are some of the earliest and simplest life forms on the planet, they appear to have every form of nutrition the human body needs to survive.
These micro-algae contain an astounding array of abundant supply of nutritional elements: vitamins, macrominerals, trace minerals, essential fatty acids, protein, nucleic acids, micro nutrients, chlorophyll, and a vast spectrum of phytochemicals. In fact a person could literally live off these micro-algae and nothing else. They make the perfect whole food supplement because are so nutritionally dense.
Bigger is not always better
These super foods range in size from 2 to 8 microns, which is about the same size as a human blood cell. They appear green due to their high chlorophyll content. Harvesting these nutrients form the algae requires special centrifuge equipment, which is one reason why people don’t grow their own micro-algae for individual consumption. Most of these super foods are grown in vast water farms located in parts of the world where the climate is warm and sunny.
Chlorella and Spirulina, two of the main ingredients in most super green foods, contain zero refined carbohydrates; they are high in digestible protein, high in chlorophyll, high in essential fatty acids and have no “bad” fats.
Kelp is a type of seaweed that is a rich source of vitamins, especially the B Vitamins, as well as of many important minerals. Studies have shown that it can be beneficial to brain tissue and the membranes surrounding the brain. You need specific nutrition to support the function of the sensory nerves, and the spinal cord as well as the nails and blood vessels. Kelp can provide this nutrition. It has been used in the treatment of under active thyroid problems because of its iodine content, and is useful for other conditions such as hair loss, obesity and ulcers.
Many health practitioners recommend a daily green food supplement, especially for people with mineral deficiencies or mood disorders. My favorite super green food is Enerfood which you can read more about at ener health botanicals website. It has a mild pleasant taste and a quick boost.
Tryany super green whole food supplement like Enerfood, every day for week. One tablespoon in a glass of juice is all it takes. They are also cost effective. Taking a tablespoon of super green energy food, costs less than a typical fistful of vitamins.

The Notorious Green Tea Leaf
Nowadays, people are becoming more health observant as the majority of the population ages. The baby boomer generation is searching for almost anything that will keep them feeling well. As the popularity of good health products become greater, they are advertised everywhere and mainly on television where younger people are buying in to living a healthy life.
More adults are now trying to eat healthy and stay healthy, people are always looking for things that are homeopathic in nature and what other people have been using for centuries. A popular result of all of this searching is the green tea leaf.
Green tea leaves are not recognized by the FDA as medicinal, but it does act as one for certain things such as indigestion and diarrhea. The tea is also good for use as a mouth wash and plaque control. The green tea leaf is also showing great signs in staving off and stopping certain cancers, particularly stomach cancer.
There aren’t many medications that can do all of this and if there were, it would be one the most well known drugs ever and I wouldn’t be talking about the tea. The tea’s leaf is also noted for working against other cancers such as; rectum, intestinal, colon, breast, lung, and pancreatic cancer.
In China, a conclusive study was commissioned to observe the green tea leaf and the results of the study showed that women who drink the tea every day had a 33% drop in cancers over women who didn’t drink it everyday. This study also concluded a 43% drop in women getting rectal cancer.
The study even showed a 47% drop in pancreatic cancer in women who drink the tea daily. In Japan, a study of over four hundred women showed that the chances of cancer reappearing was very low in women who started drinking five cups of the notorious tea everyday.
The green tea leaf has certain components that make it a very popular choice. Caffeine also had something to do with the tea’s popularity. Caffeine is the stimulant we all know that gets us going in the morning and keeps us going all through the day.
When taken in moderation the tea also settles the stomach, making people alert without that feeling of unsettling nerves you might get when drinking coffee.
Green tea and black tea are taken from the same tea plant. The biggest difference between the two leaves are the way they are processed. Most green leaf teas are in China and Japan, while the black teas are processed in India and Sri Lanka and Kenya. The Asian countries have included green tea in their diets for thousands of years and the world is just beginning to see the great benefits.

Are Super Green Foods… Really Super?
Wheat Grass: As the name implies comes from sprouted grains. Taking shots of wheat grass like you would if you were taking shots of vodka is extremely popular in places like Manhattan and California. I remember working out at a very trendy health club located on the Upper West Side, where people would actually line up out the door for this stuff. One day after a hard exercise session the owner finally convinced me to give it a shot, I accepted. To my surprise they were right!! I definitely felt different? But not the kind of difference I would pay money for. My stomach was upset for hours, along with a horrible case of flatulence and the flavor tasted pretty much like I thought it would, like liquidized grass!
Many health food stores often make the grandiose statement that 1 ounce of wheat grass is nutritionally equivalent to 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of green vegetables. That’s a 1:35 ratio! No wonder I had so much gas!! The actually numbers from the USDA when comparing wheat grass with broccoli and spinach demonstrate that ounce for ounce there is nothing substantially different from the 3, (see table 1). Looks like Popeye was right! Just eat your spinach kids.
Table 1. Nutrient comparison of 1 oz (28.35 g)[dubious - discuss]of wheatgrass juice, broccoli and spinach.

Proponents claim improvement in energy, digestion (opposite for me) and a purifying and detoxifying effect on the blood. Maybe that’s why my tongue was green for the rest of the day? No studies have been performed to warrant these claims.
